NMB Splice-Sleeve is the world’s first mechanical reinforcing bar coupler designed for the connection of precast concrete members by means of filling a sleeve with special high-strength grout.
Compared with the traditional corrugated pipe connections in the precast member, which generally requires long dowel bars in the long tubes with a great amount of grout to connect, the NMB Splice-sleeve has a short body and needs a very short dowel with less grout to complete the connection. The erection of precast members with the NMB is much easier thanks to the shorter dowel bars used to connect at the jobsite.

No special bar end preparation such as threading is necessary. Simply saw or flare cut the bar and insert it into the sleeve up to the Rebar Stop equipped inside the sleeve at the precast factory.

At the construction site, a connection is done by injecting the special high-strength non-shrink grout by a hand-operated or electric pump through the inlet port of the sleeve. Once the grout flows out of the outlet port of the sleeve, the connection is completed and should be cured for about one day to allow for hardening of the grout before releasing the braces.

NMB Splice-Sleeve UX(SA) model meets the requirements for mechanical couplers as specified in Eurocode 2+Eurocode 8, BS8110, ACI318 Type 2, IBC, AASHTO, ISO15835, and BCJ Class SA.

It’s simple one model is compatible with various types of deformed reinforcing bars in wide range diameters and high grades. Simply select the Sleeve Number in accordance with the bar size.

NMB Splice-Sleeve is versatile, as it can be located in the upper or lower end of the precast member to make vertical connections designed by structural and construction requirements. The sleeve can also be embedded in the precast member to make horizontal connections.

NMB Splice-Sleeve and SS Mortar (grout) are specially made under our own design and quality-controlled production process to ensure the highest quality and performance at the jobsite.

NMB Slim-Sleeve is a slim and shorter model from the standard NMB Splice-Sleeve UX(SA) model and is specially developed for cast-in-place applications such as slab, wall, column, and beam connections.

No bar end preparation such as threading is necessary, saw or flare cut is acceptable, just slide the bar into the sleeve and grout it to complete the connection. No residual elongation or shrinkage will occur.

The gap between bars in the sleeve is allowed with ample tolerance and no need for precise butt splicing the bars.

The Set-Screws equipped on the sleeve assist easy assembling bars and the sleeves, and multiple rebars such as the bar cage can be simultaneously connected.
